Learning Diversity at St Paul’s

At St Paul’s, we are committed to celebrating and supporting the unique gifts, talents, and needs of every learner. Guided by the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Vision for Instruction, we believe that every child can learn and achieve growth when provided with high expectations, targeted support, and opportunities to thrive.

Learning diversity is at the heart of how we support and teach our students. Intervention programs are designed to build foundational skills and confidence for those who require additional support, ensuring every learner is engaged at their point of need. Extension is embedded within classroom practice through differentiated learning, while targeted opportunities such as our Senior Maths Extension group which challenge and inspire students to think critically, deepen their understanding and extend their capabilities.

We recognise that each child’s learning journey is unique. For students receiving additional support, we develop Personalised Learning Plans (PLPs) in consultation with families and teachers. These plans ensure that students with funding and identified needs are supported with evidence-based strategies that promote success and wellbeing.

To further support our students, St Paul’s engages a school psychologist who works online on a part-time basis, providing expertise in wellbeing, assessment and intervention planning. This resource complements the work of our educators and ensures that the emotional, social and psychological needs of students are supported alongside their academic growth.

Through a culture of inclusion, collaboration and high expectations, St Paul’s is committed to providing a rich and supportive environment where all students can flourish, encounter success and develop their God-given potential.
